Sales Tax Holiday

Sales tax holiday, runs Friday through Sunday, August 9-11. 

The tax-free weekend exempts tax on qualified items like clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks that are priced below $100, providing savings of about $8 on every $100 spent.  During the tax-free weekend, qualifying items can be purchased tax-free in person or by internet, phone or mail.

Purchases are exempt when the item is both delivered to and paid for by the customer during the exemption period.  They are also exempt when the customer orders and pays for the item, and the seller accepts the order during the exemption period for immediate shipment, even if delivery is made after the period ends.  A list of eligible items for the tax-free weekend is available at www.texastaxholiday.org.
