St. Peter’s Episcopal Church offering “Ashes on the Way”

St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is once again offering “Ashes on the Way” on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14. We will be there to let people simply drive through and receive the imposition of ashes. Our hours will be 7:00 am – 9:00 am and again from 11:00 – 1:00.
The drawing of a cross with ashes on the forehead serves as an invitation to repentance, and a response to our encounter with the Word of God. “Ashes on the Way” moves the encounter with God (in the form of God’s people offering prayer and symbols) and that invitation to repentance out of the church building, into the spaces of everyday life where we live out our response to God. The grace comes from God, the same free gift at the same cost, as God’s grace made known inside the church.
