SUMMARY:Grimes County Fair Kickoff Dance
DESCRIPTION:The official kickoff to the Grimes County Fair is Friday\, May 31 night featuring a Dance with music by the Emotions at 8pm in the Main Hall. The doors open at 7:30pm\, and tickets are $10.  They are also having the crowning of the Grimes County Fair Queen at 9pm that evening. Look for KTEX 106’s Ryan Stone broadcasting live in the KTEX Country Cruiser. \nOn Saturday\, they are having a kid’s rodeo at 10am\, while the adult rodeo will be that night at 7pm.  Tickets are $10 per person\, while kids $5 and under get in for free. \nThe Fair is hosting a Buyer’s Social and Supper on Thursday\, June 6\, at 5:30pm. They will also have special presentations\, the announcement of scholarship recipients\, and other awards. \nThe premium auction and sale will begin that same evening at 6:30pm. Grayson is going to be out there broadcasting live in the KTEX Country Cruiser. \nThe final day of activities is on Friday\, June 7 with Senior Citizens Day and Childrens Day at 10am. \nOn Friday evening\, they will hold the Ranch Hand Rodeo\, which features teams of five competing in three events: pasture roping\, mugging\, and branding.

DESCRIPTION:The next regular meetings of the American Legion Quade-Werchan Post #338 and Ladies Auxiliary is scheduled for Thursday\, June 6\, 2024\, beginning at 6:30 PM at their facilities. \nDue to the concern for the events honoring the anniversary of post and D-Day\, the plan to dispose of American flags which have become worn and been collected over the past year\, prior to the meeting will be postponed to a later date. \nThe post will gather for a Social Hour beginning at 5:30 PM\, and then honor the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the 102nd anniversary of the post with a catered meal consisting of chicken fried steak\, mashed potatoes\, and green beans starting at 5:45 PM.  Members are encouraged to make a meal reservation by sending an email to bockhorn7402@hotmail.com  The post and auxiliary will hold their monthly meetings following the meal. \nThe meeting for July 2024 will be held on Thursday\, July 11th as the post normal meeting falls on the first Thursday of the month\, July 4th\, Independence Day.  For the month of August\, the post and auxiliary will meet on Thursday\, August 1st. \nAll post and auxiliary members are requested to attend their respective meetings.
