SUMMARY:API Bass Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The American Petroleum Institute – Austin Chalk and Brazos Valley Chapters are getting ready to host their annual bass fishing tournament this weekend at Lake Somerville Marina and Campground.   A registration event will take place on Friday\, September 8 at 5 p.m.  Dinner will be served\, and door prizes will be given away.  The tournament gets underway on Saturday\, September 9 at 6 a.m. and will run until 3 p.m.  Prizes include $1\,000 for first place teams in the open division and $500 for teams that finish first in the sportsman division.  There will also be a $100 hourly big bass pot and overall big bass pot.  Proceeds from the tournament go toward local charities and educational endowments.\nFor more details\, head to the API Bass Tournament Facebook page. \nKTEX-106’s Trail Boss Troy will broadcast live from Friday’s dinner and registration event.  KTEX-106 will also provide hourly tournament reports on Saturday.

DESCRIPTION:For more than 20 years\, Caldwell has hosted the Kolache Festival in the downtown square area. This festival celebrates the Czech heritage and is held the second Saturday in September each year.  Tens of thousands of Kolaches are sold\, as well as homemade sausage and festival foods of all kinds which are sold at vendor booths. Dozens and dozens of vendor booths also sell the best quality homemade crafts and other items. There are Czech bands on two stages\, a Kolache eating contest\, period costumes\, dancing\, farm equipment show\, antique car show\, kid rides and activities\, and live acts of all kinds.
