MEET THE CANDIDATES FOR
MAYORAL AND CITY COUNCIL POSITION RACES
The La Grange Citizens’ Alliance is pleased to announce it is hosting a non-partisan, unbiased candidate forum on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, 6:30 pm at the Fayette County Ag Extension Bldg on Svoboda Road in La Grange.
Incumbent Mayor Janet Moerbe with challenger Sarah Barksdale, incumbent Council Ward 4 member Pat Janca with challengers Richard Chernosky and Marilyn Descours, candidates Ward 3 Buster Hill, Jan Dockery and Dustin Littrell, unopposed incumbent Ward 3 member Bonnie Busch, unopposed incumbent Ward 2 member John Cernosek and unopposed incumbent Ward 1 member Ken Taylor have been invited. Early voting begins April 22nd through April 30th, and Election Day is May 4th. LGCA is hosting and introducing the session but will have no role in the forum.
The Honorable Dan Mueller, Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 Fayette County, will act as forum moderator. Judge Mueller will use questions based on overall awareness of La Grange and area issues and written questions submitted prior to the La Grange Citizens’ Alliance (firstname.lastname@example.org) and questions submitted by the audience upon registration at the forum.
Candidates will make opening and closing remarks, answer questions in a round robin l-r, r-l question format, and have the opportunity to comment on questions addressed to other candidates. Reasonable time constraints will apply throughout the session.
The La Grange Citizens’ Alliance is pleased to present “Meet the Candidates” to provide this opportunity for our residents to gain first-hand information and input from candidates for their mayoral and city council positions. The LGCA very much appreciates KVLG’ (1570 AM and 104.9 FM) Gary Dusek and Judge Dan Mueller for working with us to ensure this will be an unbiased forum for our residents to aid them in reaching their own voting decision.
